Quite agreed. There is so much to be done in State and Local politics, and of course just living well. Feeding the federal outrage beast only wastes energy and distracts us from effective actions right in front of us.
Very Zen. Be here now. This is what I found helped me when I was having panic attacks, which you might remember if you read my survival memoir. I would touch something rough or cold and focus on the sensation. Bringing yourself into the moment. I think that is very wise during this time of uncertainty. What's right in front of you. Thank you for the reminder.
Hi Laura, I am so with you on not being on the orange carousel. I was a political blogger from 2003 - shortly after Biden was sworn in and I threw in the towel for being a "beacon of light and hope" instead. The outrage was way to much for me and still is. I am a much better person returning to my roots of light and hope, love and beauty! Thanks for articulating this so well.
Laura, Being a hope and light bringers is a lovely vocation that takes work. It was part of who I was a political writer too. I’m glad to be fully in my realm again. Nice to connect with you here!
Lucky for you that you have a husband that quotes Bob Newhart when you drift off your course of only seeing what's in front of you. "Stop It!" (Insert heart and smiley emoji here. There should be a way to do that, but I can't figure it out. But you know how much I love you; I don't need emojis to say that.)

I agree. Thanks for the comment, too.

I do remember - and I think this is the only way we survive with our souls intact..

Yeah… hope and light are better for the soul. It takes work sometimes to be there - thanks for your comment. Really.,

I love this. Sometimes focusing on the small picture helps us see the big picture.
It’s the only way I’m not totally losing my mind.
